Description


Phoong Tang is the U.S. Crop Protection Lead. In this role, she is responsible for leading the U.S. Crop Protection business including sales and strategic accounts leadership. Along with her team, she partners with product management and marketing to lead new product launches, product development and pipeline growth within crop protection. In addition, she works with the Global Crop Protection Team on implementing the U.S. Crop Protection strategy and Monsanto's future product pipeline, including Ag Productivity Solutions. Phoong is a member of the Commercial Operations Leadership Team.

Joining Monsanto in 1996, Phoong began her career working in Belgium and China before returning to the U.S. in 1999. During her tenure, she has held roles within the Technology, Animal Ag, and U.S. Commercial organizations. She led the cross-functional team that developed and implemented the integration of the $1.5 B acquisition of Delta & Pine Land, the U.S.’s largest cotton seed company. She also served as the Global Breeding Strategy and Operations Lead. Most recently, she was the Cotton and Specialty Technology Lead responsible for leading Monsanto’s overall portfolio strategy for cotton and specialty crops before taking her current role leading the U.S. Crop Protection business.

Phoong holds an Executive MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in International Business/Marketing and Mathematics from Webster University. Involved in the community, Phoong’s board memberships include the St. Louis Crisis Nursery and the Washington University Executive MBA Alumni Association.
